If an IMAP account, then you should be okay, but it may redownload all messages. Especially if you still have a POP account, then make sure to "Archive" your mail account before deleting account. If none of this works, you can delete the current gmail account in Mail>Accounts and then recreate it with your current password.Ĭheck if your gmail account is IMAP or POP. This really shouldn't be necessary, but occasionally I see outdated or multiple passwords in Keychain. You may find older wrong passwords in Keychain Access and AS LONG AS THE CORRECT PASSWORD IS PRESENT in another item, you can delete old password and entire entry. You can double click on the item, then click on "Show Password" enter your admin password in popup window and check if it is correct. Go to "Keychain Access" >Login (upper left area of window) find your google account and look at Date Modified. See if you now receive new messages on your Gmail account. Mail will ask if you want to "Save Changes" click Save. Just highlight the current password, type in the new password and then exit out of the account. You can change the password in Mail Preferences>Accounts>Password First assuming you have already changed your password Google Gmail to your new password.
